Rain
The Rain taps at the window.
Shall we ask him in for tea?
I知 sure he値l come and join us!
Put napkins on for three.
The fire is hot, the water boils,
The ginger cakes are done.
The Rain taps at the window,
And now I see the Sun!
A Rainbow bends across the sky.
I see her blushing face.
Let痴 ask the Rainbow in for tea!
Come, set another place.
We値l use our finest china,
And fill a vase with flowers.
The Rain and Rainbow here for tea!
Thank the Day for Showers!
Fill the pitcher full of cream.
At each place put a spoon.
Some day we値l ask a Shooting Star.
Some night we値l ask the Moon!

The Carpenter Moon
The carpenter moon
With his bucket of light
Paints my window every night
And paints the trees
The stream, the hill,
And even my hand
On the window sill.
Then he lays his beams
On all that痴 in sight
And hammers with stars
Another bright night.
When the sky is grey
And he should fade away,
He tidies up with a light, soft rain.
Then the carpenter sun jumps in with a splash
to put gold trim on my window pane.

Sky
The Sky is sewing a gown of snow
To wear when she meets the Noon.
I hear she痴 to meet a Lake and a Sea,
And will wear as a pearl, the Moon.

Cloud
When you see
White wisps of cloud
Drifting in the air,
You know
That somewhere far above
An angel cuts her hair.

The Shepherd Wind
Who has seen the shepherd wind
Tend his flock of clouds?
They graze upon a saffron sky
Sown with lilac stars.
We see the flock glide overhead.
Sunset gilds their wool.
The shepherd wind blows patiently
Until the clouds are full.
At dusk the shepherd herds his sheep
Into the moonlit night.
He drives them through the cooling sky
And past the slopes of light.
They huddle up against a star
Near the Milky Way
Where herds of cloud cows stomp the skies
And cowboys lead in day.
