Blue
Ridge Traditions...From Print to Online
Blue
Ridge Traditions has shifted from a print magazine,
published quarterly, to an online Blue Ridge Traditions
Marketplace for books from Blue Lady Books, an independent
bookstore in Rocky Mount,* specializing in books related to
the Blue Ridge Region, American history, Southern history,
fiction, cookbooks, poetry, art, wooden miniatures of local
buildings, and books by Virginia writers. Blue Ridge
Traditions online will also focus on articles by Greer, some
articles by other writers that appeared in the print
magazine, and the calendar “Events,” a posting of upcoming
events in the Blue Ridge Region.
Ibby Greer published a print version of Blue Ridge
Traditions from early 2003, when she purchased the magazine,
until the final print issue, in late 2005. Vol. 12, Number 4
was the final print edition.
“Back Issues” on this site has ordering information for the
print magazines, while supplies last. Archived copies of the
print magazine are available at Ferrum College, Ferrum, VA,
the Blue Ridge Institute at Ferrum, the Library of Virginia
in Richmond, and at several historical societies throughout
Virginia.
*Blue Lady Books is located at 50 Floyd Avenue Rocky Mount
